Monty’s 2010 catch report
I must say how happy I am to see us endure another proper winter, it’s so nice to see the ponds and lakes covered in an icy blanket and it gives the residents some chill out time away from our lines constantly invading their space. This said inevitably the lids will be off and the resident carp will become accessible once more, and I can assure you, I will be one of the first to wet mine
So what’s planed for 2010!
Targets for the year
1 catch a wild Spanish carp when we go to Spain in may/June
2 catch a new PB hopefully a 30lb
Some of you will know I now work in London traveling home for a few days every other week making it impossible for me to fish my local waters allthough I have continued my membership. So after only a week in the city my head began to melt as withdraw symptoms began to escalate then one day I found my self next to the serpentine in Hyde Park concocting means and ways to sneak on and bend a rod, however I doubt the Queen would be happy about that! I did find a few lakes in the city that hold carp but I wouldn’t feel confident spending the night in public parks. Then just last week I found a 4 acre pond situated in the Lee Valley, it’s a short walk to the nearest railway station and 18miles from the city centre, Bingo! On top of this it has reasonable stock of attractive carp with the largest around the mid 30 mark, the swims are set out so not to interfere with other anglers with features everywhere.
Here are a few picks I took last week on my phone from the visit; the water level is quite high at the moment so I couldn’t get all around.

Tight lines peeps
