Post Otters
Love or hate them these furry critters are thriving since reintroduction back into the UK, otter sightings in my area over the last couple of years are becoming ever more increasing and local anglers are biting at the bit because we can do very little to prevent these predators from devouring the contents of our well established waters, except erecting expensive unsightly fencing that in some cases impracticable to fit.
Otters main diet are eels and slow moving aquatic life (carp) they will even kill ducks chickens and if cornered successfully defend them selves against medium sized dogs.
Now what I want to know is why when a percentage of my licence contributed to the cost of there introduction, why are the fish that I chose to target not considered in this conservation campaign and what can we do to prevent the slaughter of our cherish old warriors.

Post Re: Otters
Ive seen pics of what they can do and it devastating!!!!!!!! They will tear up 30lb fish and then just leave them half eaten on the bank!!!!!!!!! I saw what i think was a Stowt or a Mink at Falkinvil on the mini social..... And i no they eat fish!!!!!!!! Unless your fisherie pulls its finger out they may move in mate!!!! I also think the EA should of planned for this as it was always going to happen as a result of reintraducing Otters into the wild again. Just my thoughts. :repect:
